In historic downtown Durango Colorado, right on Main Avenue, in the heart of the most vibrant old town area - home to a multitude of restaurants, shops and entertainment, and an easy stroll to the famous Durango-Silverton tourist Train. This one-bedroom condo has just been completely remodeled. All done with an eye on modern luxury and creating a relaxed feel. Right in the very middle of all things Durango. Walking distance to most everything.

Arrival at this completely updated unit begins with a private, reserved, off-street parking space dedicated to this condo, which alleviates any challenges of downtown Durango parking.  The main entrance, steps away from the private parking spot, is secured by coded entry for after-hours access & security.  Inside the Victorian-era lobby, and just down the main-level hall, is the entrance to the upscale suite.

Entering this top-floor condo, which is access by elevator or stairs, guests are greeted by an all-new interior decor from top-to-bottom, including furnishings that thoughtfully combine elements of old and new, helping create a warm, comfortable and inviting space.  This one-bedroom downtown condo has an open multi-level floor plan, which includes the kitchen, dining room, and living room - with large, flat screen `smart` TV - providing Cable TV service & connectivity to Netflix, etc. Free, secured WiFi in this condo.

At the rear of the building, is a gated, private patio with a gas grill and community dining & seating area. The daily Durango & Silverton Train passes just a few feet from the patio area, and with the sound of a steam train and whistle, provides a glimpse into what downtown living was like over 100 years past.

Constructed in 1888, The Jarvis Building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, with a remarkable history, in a community rich with natural splendor, and an exciting heritage of Rocky Mountain adventures, all dating back to the mining era that literally helped build America.  This building was once home to one of Durango’s early movie houses, The Gem Theater, where a young start-up named Jack Dempsey, left the mines of Colorado to begin his famous run as a world-renowned boxer. His 25' high boxing image is painted on another historic building across the street, where many a photo is taken daily. 

The Jarvis Building has evolved into more contemporary urban condominiums over the past few years, though everywhere the eye turns, the building’s elegant history of Victorian design are still quite evident. The entrance lobby and hallways are decorated with historic photos from the area, creating a vintage ambiance only history can bestow.

Skiing and summer activities at Purgatory Resort are a mountain magical 30 minute drive to the north, and Mesa Verde National Park is a picturesque 45 minute drive west through the rolling foothills of Southwest Colorado. Enjoy a beautiful nature-meets-town walk or bike ride along the scenic 7 mile Animas River Trail which is just two blocks from the condo.  The seasonal farmers market is a delight of local food and music, and is also just a short walk away.

The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad and Museum (The Durango Train) is just seven minutes walking distance from this very spot (five blocks). The Durango Welcome Center at the corner of 8th & Main has an abundance of visitor information and helpful guides, and is just two blocks walking distance. One block from the condo is the convenience of a full-service grocery store, and yes, some of Durango's best retailers and restaurants are right outside the Jarvis entrance door to explore & enjoy along the Main Avenue Historic District.
