Had a great time staying at the Eagle's nest. It was spacious and comfortable with fun alpine/mountain cabin decor. And then amazing views from the living room and outdoor patio was the icing on the cake.

Perfection. Everything was excellent and more than advertised.
It was the most memorable five days we've ever had as a family. We've been to Rocky Mountain National Park, all over Texas, Red River, NM every year, the Great Smoky Mountains and numerous other places, but your property was hands down the most beautiful and impressive we've stayed at. We loved the house and the location so much, we would love to come again and do less of the touristy stuff. More hiking and mountain biking.

They checked with us during our trip to make sure we would be there before dark so we could find the place easily. Then they gave us amazing directions including when to make sure we didn't slow down since the driveway was snow packed and which side of the driveway they prefer and why. Plus, since it snowed A LOT while we were there, they came and shoveled the deck. This was something we didn't ask for or expect them to do but it was such a nice touch because it allowed us to go on the deck and see the amazing view easier. Thanks so much for taking care of us like you had known us forever!!
Breathtaking, amazing view. The house had enough room for everyone to get away if they wanted some time to themselves but it also had a great family are where you could talk and hangout whether you were working in the kitchen or sitting by the fireplace. Thanks for sharing your house with us. We look forward to staying here again.

We were unable to stay at our selected property due to a furnace malfunction. Suzanne and the Vacation Accommodations of Durango team did a great job of quickly finding us an alternate property in the area that met our needs and we had a great week! We regret we couldn't stay at the Hawk's nest but would love to try again.
Thanks for all of the help!

Suzanne was fantastic.
The house is at 9000ft. When Durango reaches 90 degrees, we got up to only 78. Far enough from town so you can see every star at night. The house itself is like staying in a museum. We had a wonderful stay. Although we saw all the local attractions, some days we just hung out at the house, dipped in the hot tub, and then repeated.

This is a fantastic property, and the ladies at VA of Durango were beyond professional in taking care of us when the Hot Tub stopped working briefly. This home has incredible views and is somewhat secluded which makes it even better in my opinion. Make sure to visit the Olde Schoolhouse Pizza down the road to get a taste of some great pizza and a feel for the locals. The neighbors were friendly and the place was clean. It is near Purgatory Resort and is several miles down the mountain so come prepared with groceries and such and enjoy the old Viking Range if you are cooking. We met our family from Kansas here and had 9 people total, it was very comfortable for all. I might recommend another tv in the house, but it was not a big deal. It has been almost a month since our visit, and I can say without doubt that I am having a hard time forgetting the view off the rear deck. If you are thinking of doing a vacation rental in the Durango area "The Eagles Nest" is a great choice and I would highly reccomend going directly thru Vacation Accommodations of Durango for any of your needs. Marie was great to work with! She has great customer service and was so prompt. It was a pleasure to work with your team.
This is a great house! It was perfect for our group. The only suggestions are, maybe take some of the animal heads and skins down, they can be a little scary. The hot tub was not in working condition and the steep driveway. Other than that, it was great! We were unaware that the hot tub was not working. It was working before and after. It is also serviced and cleaned regularly buy a hot tub repair and service company.

Talk about an Eagle's Nest!! Absolutely exceeded our expectations in location!! It's perched on a high hill with nearly 360 degree views of the mountains! Close to Purgatory and we would totally stay there again! Beautiful dinnerware with fun silverware and fun Decour really is a mountain cabin!

Consistent with most Colorado mountain resorts, the home does not offer air-conditioning. Home is equipped with either a ceiling fan, box fan and at least one opening window to assist with climate control.

In winter (November through April), It is NECESSARY that you have a four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive vehicle, vehicles with medium to high clearance and winter/snow tires. Although the roads and driveway are maintained they are steep and curvy and will still be snow packed and slick. Please be aware that if we have a heavy snowfall, by law the roads have to be plowed first so that emergency vehicles can get through then driveways will be done so your driveway may not be plowed first thing. They do not plow unless we receive 5”-6” of snow.

Due to roof lines and other factors the deck will not be cleared of snow. The walkways and steps to access the home will be shoveled.

Small dogs are welcome for an additional fee of $75.00. Fee is based on one dog and may be charged separately. Please contact us if you are traveling with more than one dog.
