Durango Colorado vacation rental home known as O’Reilly’s Inn Garden House, where guests have access to the entire lower level of this lovely home with their own private entrance. The space you will be staying in is NOT shared with other guests, and there is free, on-street, and seasonal off-street parking.

This extensively remodeled, traditional-yet-unique home is located in one of the established neighborhoods about a mile north of historic downtown Durango.  Inside, the private, lower-level, ‘Garden Patio‘ suite comprises the entire floor with private entrance, three bedrooms, two baths and an open living space that includes full kitchen, dining room and a large living room space with multiple seating areas.

A breakfast basket and other goodies are provided at the beginning of your stay to jump start your day including coffee, juice, fruit, locally made bread items, treats from Honeyville Durango, Animas Chocolate Company and more.  Ask us about stocking the fridge with additional items to make your stay more comfortable. 

The quiet neighborhood setting and convenient location are just the beginning of amenities at this fully-remodeled, large family home located in Durango about one mile from the Historic District, Train Depot and many other downtown attractions including restaurants, shops and more.  The house is located about midway through town in the western ‘heights’, with the convenience of an in-town location and the relaxed atmosphere of a quiet neighborhood. The three bedroom, two bath home has much to offer the traveler seeking the comfort, room and seclusion, plus easy access to downtown Durango, the mountains to the north and Purgatory Ski Resort.

The home is set on a large city lot with a private, ground-level entrance and a lawn that wraps around to the front of the home.  The gas BBQ grill and shaded patio area with outdoor dining table, add outdoor comfort to the open, cozy, comfortable interiors.  

Easy access to the living space is conveniently located on the ground level immediately adjacent to the patio area, which is just a few feet from the street-side parking.

Entry to the home begins with french doors that lead to the spacious sunroom, where lounging is made comfortable while surrounded by the outdoor garden area.  A portion of this room is reserved for bicycles and other outdoor gear, so the serious cyclist and adventurer can store bikes and equipment indoors.

Inside, comfort is found everywhere, including the spacious, open living room, with multiple seating areas, flat-screen TV and large windows allowing soft mountain light to pour into the room. The open living space includes the dining table and kitchen with additional counter dining. Three bedrooms include the master bedroom suite with king size bed and private bath, a second bedroom with queen size bed, and bedroom three featuring and expandable day-bed.  A second bath in the hallway, shared by bedrooms two and three, also services the living area. 

The large, fully-equipped kitchen is open to the living room and dining room, which keeps the home chef engaged with their group in the living room area.  The clothes washer and dryer are located in a hallway just outside this suite.

The home is located right in town, just about two minutes from Main Avenue, and the famous San Juan Scenic Skyway, including a section known as the Million Dollar Highway, which is an incredibly picturesque driving loop that connects Durango, Mancos, Mesa Verde National Park, Telluride, Ouray, Silverton and Purgatory Resort, as well as many fantastic trails for hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing and other Rocky Mountain adventures.
Visitors can enjoy the shops, restaurants, galleries and the Durango Train within about a five-minute drive, with skiing and summer mountain activities at Purgatory Resort a beautifully scenic, thirty-minute drive to the north.

Motorcycle enthusiasts will encounter all-paved roads and the paved San Juan Scenic Byway, which offers a popular scenic drive for motorists of all kinds.  Serious road cyclists with find the paved highway north to Purgatory and Silverton to be scenic and challenging routes, and mountain bikers have many choices of trails that allow bikes, and hikers are minutes from a vast array of mountain hikes, including some great trails right in town.  

Guests will find that they don’t always have to load up the car to get to the great outdoors, as this home is located near quite a few of the more popular trails that connect the city with  the surrounding woods and forests.  Hikers and mountain bikers will have easy access to trails such as Animas Mountain, Dalla Mountain Park, Overend Mountain Park and others that include connections to the Colorado Trail.  See our in-house guest book for maps and directions to these trails or go to www.trails2000.org for more information.

In addition, the trail head of the Colorado Trail, the state’s premier long-distance trail, stretching almost 500 miles on its route to Denver, is about a ten minute drive from this home.  It’s a very scenic trail, winding along Junction Creek before turning uphill to reach aspen groves and panoramic views of the high mountains.

In town, the paved Animas River Trail, accessed just a few blocks from this home,  runs the entire length of town along the river, making for easy commuting to parks and downtown destinations, as well providing an excellent fitness corridor.
