Great location and stellar views!  This two bedroom condo is five minutes from Purgatory Resort with a FREE SHUTTLE in winter to the ski lift and Main Plaza, with shops, restaurants, ski rentals and more.   Summer visitors will delight in this location, perched at the threshold to the high mountains of Southwest Colorado, near seemingly endless trails on National Forest lands.

The well-maintained, private, two bedroom condo includes a full kitchen, cozy living room with wood-burning fireplace and private balcony with outstanding, panoramic mountain views.  Also on the main level is the kitchen, dining room, second bedroom, full bath and in-home laundry room.

On the upper level is the master bedroom which has a loft configuration but is separate and private from the main level.   In addition to the king size bed, there is a queen size sleeper sofa and a desk for those of us that need a bit of work space while traveling.   The ensuite master bath includes and oversized jetted tub in its own ‘sauna room’, with amazing views of the mountains nearby from the tub and the adjacent balcony.  Also in the master bath are dual vanities and an updated, custom tiled, walk-in shower. 

The open floor plan for the living space includes the kitchen, a dining room with seating for all guests and the living room which includes a queen-size sleeper sofa, sleeping up to four guests on the main level.   

The views from this home are some of the best that we have seen in the area, leaving little room for doubt that this place is nestled in the Rocky Mountains of Southwest Colorado.

Free parking is available immediately below the condo in the covered parking garage.

    Downtown Durango - 35 minutes, 28 miles
    Silverton, Colorado - 30 minutes, 21 miles
    Purgatory Ski Resort - free shuttle daily, plus several parking options, five minutes
    Needles Store for gas and supplies - 7 minutes, 4 miles
    Olde Schoolhouse Cafe for great pizza & local character - 7 minutes, 4 miles
    PJ’s full service Grocery Store & Gourmet Market - 22 minutes, 20 miles

A 35 minute drive to the south will take guests to historic downtown Durango, Colorado.  This condominium is on the San Juan Scenic Skyway, which is an incredibly scenic driving loop that connects Durango, Mancos, Mesa Verde National Park, Telluride, Ouray, Silverton and Purgatory, as well as many fantastic trails for hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing and other Rocky Mountain adventures.

Winter visitors will have easy access via free shuttle to the main ski runs at Purgatory while still finding themselves in a quiet condo ‘neighborhood’ with easy access and 24 hour check-in availability.  In summer, there is an abundance of hiking, biking and 4x4 trails in the resort itself as well as in the San Juan Mountains which surround the resort area.

Motorcycle enthusiasts will encounter completely paved roads and parking to and from the paved San Juan Scenic Byway, which offers a popular scenic drive for motorists of all kinds.  Serious road cyclists with find the paved highway north to Silverton or south to Durango to be scenic and challenging routes, and mountain bikers have many choices of trails that allow bikes, and hikers are minutes from a vast array of high mountain hikes.

Horseback rides and more await summer visitors, and this condo is a very convenient location to winter activities including skiing and snow boarding at Purgatory, snowmobile tours in the high country, cross country skiing, horse drawn sleigh rides and more.  This condo is surrounded by tall aspen trees making a most spectacular site for fantastic views during the golden fall color of autumn.

Consistent with most Colorado mountain resorts, the home does not offer air-conditioning. Home is equipped with either a ceiling fan, box fan and at least one opening window to assist with climate control.

In winter (November through April), It is Highly recommended that you have a four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive vehicle, vehicles with medium to high clearance and winter/snow tires. Although the roads and driveway are well-maintained, they will be snow packed and slick.

Please be aware that if we have a heavy snowfall, the highways and roads have to be plowed first so that emergency vehicles can get through then driveways will be done so your driveway may not be plowed first thing. They do not plow neighborhood roads or driveways unless we receive 5”-6” of snow.
