This well-appointed home is reached via paved, state highway that connects downtown Durango and Purgatory Resort, plus a very short drive on paved neighborhood roads, ending with a paved driveway and one parking spot inside the attached garage.  Additional parking in driveway.

Once inside the home, guests are treated to new furnishings throughout the two-story, contemporary mountain home.  There is no doubt that the home is situated in a mountain setting, as the view from the large living room windows is of Engineer Mountain. One of the area’s iconic peaks, the 12,968 foot mountain is a popular hiking and mountain biking area in summer and passed by all travelers on the famous San Juan Scenic Byway when driving to the town of Silverton and beyond.

In this home, the main level is the upper level, reached via stairs when entering the home through the front door or garage.  Ground-level, walk-out from this level is achieved from the living room, onto a patio and lawn area surrounded by aspen and evergreen forest.

The main level consists of a spacious open floor plan that includes the living room, dining room and kitchen.  The master bedroom, also on this level, is accessed via a short hallway, and includes a luxurious master bath suite that opens to the fresh air of the backyard area.  There is also a powder room bath on the main level.

The lower level includes two bedrooms; one with queen size bed, and another bedroom that includes four twin beds in a unique, triple bunk bed plus additional twin bed.  Also on this level is the media / TV room, which provides an entertainment spot in addition to the large scree TV in the living room.  The sofa in the media room doubles as a queen size sleeper sofa, offering yet another option for sleeping configurations and an additional private bedroom.  
The ground level is serviced by a full bath, and includes a laundry room with full-size washer and dryer.

This home is located less than one mile from Purgatory Resort, where a multitude of winter and summer mountain activities can be found.  There is a daily shuttle service from this home during ski season, so check with us when booking to find out more.  

This location is 30 minutes from downtown Durango, and 2 minutes from Purgatory Resort. Enjoy skiing, snowboarding and sledding in the winter and explore hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding trails in the surrounding San Jan mountains all summer long. Take a drive on the scenic San Juan Skyway to visit the towns of Silverton and Ouray, and see some of the most spectacular scenery in the USA. 

Nearby Purgatory Resort, is continually adding amenities and activities to its winter and summer recreation programs including new ski lifts, the Inferno Mountain Rollercoaster, Alpine Slide, zip-line, sleigh rides, tubing hill, lift-assisted mountain bike park, snow shoeing, backcountry exploration, new summer and winter trails and more.

A deposit of 25% is due at booking and the balance is due 30 days prior to your arrival date. If you are booking inside of 30 days prior to arrival then the total amount is due at booking.

Consistent with most Colorado mountain resorts, the home does not offer air-conditioning. Home is equipped with either a ceiling fan, box fan and at least one opening window to assist with climate control.

In winter (November through April), It is Necessary that you have a four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive vehicle, vehicles with medium to high clearance and winter/snow tires. Although the roads and driveway are well-maintained, they will be snow packed and slick. The driveway to the home is steep. Please be aware that if we have a heavy snowfall, the highways and roads have to be plowed first so that emergency vehicles can get through then driveways will be done so your driveway may not be plowed first thing. They do not plow neighborhood roads or driveways unless we receive 5”-6” of snow.
